Journal °2 – Sandra Drzymalska

This is Sote Journal – our diary of encounters with friends of the brand, people whose work and attitude inspires us every day. Journal °2 features an interview with Sandra Drzymalska, accompanying her role in the Sote Loops campaign.

Sandra is one of the most talented actresses of her generation. She is known for her roles in Jerzy Skolimowski’s EO and The Last Vacation. Admired for her natural presence, emotional depth, and on-screen charisma.

We meet at Resort, an iconic Warsaw café located by Teatralny Square. Sandra, What’s your favorite view in Warsaw?

My favorite view in Warsaw is from the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge between Powiśle and Praga — the Praga footbridge. I especially love looking from there toward the city skyline, but also in the direction of the Vistula River and the Gdański Bridge. It’s most beautiful there in the evening, at sunset.

Which Warsaw park do you like the most?

I really like Krasiński Park and Królikarnia — if that counts as a park — but I especially love the sculptures that are there. So those are my two favorites.

And if you go for a walk with your dog, where do you go?

Pole Mokotowskie.

Kino Muranów.

What’s something sentimental that has disappeared from Warsaw, but used to be something you strongly associated with the city?

The rainbow installation by Julita Wójcik that used to stand on Plac Zbawiciela. It was there during my first 2–3 years living in Warsaw — and I’ve been here for 10 years now. We studied that artist in theater school during performance art classes, so it took on an additional layer of meaning for me.

If you had to describe Warsaw to someone during a conversation abroad, what would you say?

I’d say that Warsaw has an amazing culinary scene, especially when it comes to plant-based food. Not many people know this, but Warsaw is in the top five cities in the world in terms of the number of vegan and vegetarian spots.

Which vegan or vegetarian places in Warsaw do you recommend most?

Definitely Peaches, Veganda, Lokal Vegan Bistro, Green Bar on Złota Street, and Baja — a vegan patisserie in Powiśle.
