Howlite is a characteristic white mineral with grey veins, which looks like marble. It is a mineral from the silicate group.
It joined our collection in 2017 and immediately gained great interest, especially when combined with gold.
It is named after its discoverer, Henry Howe, who discovered the mineral in 1868 in Nova Scotia. Canada and the USA have significant deposits of this mineral on their territory and to this day a large part of Howlite comes from there.
The stone is often attributed as an amulet to those who seek peace and security.
